SearchLate Villa Bid for Kachloul Sat 16th Jun 2001 13:47 Newspaper reports this morning claim that Aston Villa are to launch a late bid to try to bring Hassan Kachloul to Villa Park. The Moroccan has told Town he will sign a three year with them and is due for a medical and press conference at Portman Road on Thursday. | Midfielder Latest Mon 11th Jun 2001 10:13 The identity of George Burley's targeted midfielder still remains a mystery, although most of the names we have become used to got a mention in the papers over the weekend. Hassan Kachloul is emerging as a firm favourite, especially with Southampton being reported as signing Anders Svensson from Elfsborg in Sweden. | North Stand Fans Are Moving Fri 30th Mar 2001 09:08 Town announced at a Supporters' Club function last night that North Stand supporters will be moving to the South Stand for a brief period next season. Although this had been mooted before there was a suggestion recently that the lower tier of the new North might be finished by the season's beginning. | Burley Denies Move For Latvian Mon 24th Jul 2000 11:42 George Burley has moved swiftly to quash newspaper reports claiming Town interest in Andre Rubens, described as the Latvian Ryan Giggs. He also said he had no interest in former Town trialist Russell Latapy of Hibs and reiterated his disinterest in Sheffield United's Marcus Bent. | Town Squad on Tour Thu 20th Jul 2000 12:43 Town have left for their tour of the Baltic. The squad is as follows: Richard Wright, Keith Branagan, Fabian Wilnis, Gary Croft, Jamie Clapham , Tony Mowbray, John McGreal, Manuel Thetis, Titus Bramble, Matt Holland, Jim Magilton, Jermaine Wright, Martijn Reuser, James Scowcroft, David Johnson, Marcus Stewart, Richard Logan, John Scales, Wayne Brown and Stuart Niven. Interesting omissions are Sean Friars and Neil Midgley, no word on why they have been left at home. Fabian Wilnis has not gone out with the squad initially, but will catch up later as his wife has gone into labour. | No Replacement For Wells Mon 17th Jul 2000 13:52 Town have announced that they are not immediately going to replace departing Chief Executive Howard Wells. Chairman David Sheepshanks, now without any Football League commitments, will be taking on his workload for the time-being. The club will look for a replacement for Wells in the spring. He is reported to want to concentrate on "personal ambitions", although little else is clear about his decision to leave Portman Road. Wells only joined Town 227 days ago and has largely been involved with the developments to Churchman's currently under way. His spell at Town followed another short period as Chief Executive at Watford. Reports from fans of the Vicarage Road club suggest that Wells was out of the picture there once Nigel Wray's regime took over. With David Sheepshanks again taking on the role he has held for much of the last five years it seems unlikely that fans will notice anything different in the way the club is run. |
